Information You Submit
Partner Search Queries
A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the search. Union County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query and related technical details under its own privacy policy, which should be reviewed before submitting personal information.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form message may include the sender’s name, reply address, and anything written in the message. We keep that information as needed to read the request, respond, maintain the exchange, and address misuse or technical trouble. Message content is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government demand.
Automatic Technical Information
Normal web operations can create technical logs when a page loads. These details help deliver pages, measure general use, keep the service stable, and diagnose errors. Depending on the hosting, analytics, and advertising services in use, the data may include:
- the internet protocol address associated with the request;
- the browser name, browser version, and similar software details;
- the device category and operating system;
- the pages visited and the time spent on them;
- the referring website or source, when available; and
- the date and time connected with each request or visit.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies and comparable technologies may be used to remember basic settings, understand how visitors move through the site, support analytics, and help deliver advertising. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some functions, measurements, preferences, or partner features may work differently when cookies are refused.
How Information Is Used
Collected information is used only for operating, understanding, supporting, and improving the service and its connected functions. Common uses include:
- keeping pages available, responsive, and reliable;
- sending a search request to the partner service selected by the search tool;
- learning which Union County release-record pages visitors find useful;
- detecting errors, abuse, and other technical problems; and
- displaying advertising that may be selected according to likely interests.
Other Sites and Services
Union County Released Inmates links to the Sheriff, jail, courts, Tennessee Department of Correction, VINELink, federal or immigration locators, public-record portals, and third-party search services. Following a link leaves this site. The receiving office or company controls its page, data collection, retention, security, and privacy choices under its own notice. A link does not extend this privacy notice to that outside system.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies, pixels, or similar tools to observe activity on multiple websites and select ads based on interests. That tracking occurs on the partners’ systems and is governed by their policies and opt-out methods, not by a local Union County government office or record custodian.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be disclosed or transmitted when needed for the service, for measurement and advertising, or to comply with a binding legal duty. Recipients may include:
- search partners that receive and process a query submitted through their tool;
- analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance;
- advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements; and
- law-enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, or other government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, warrant, court order, or other lawful demand.
These providers may receive only the data involved in their function, subject to their own terms and technical practices. Official Union County and Tennessee record offices remain separate entities and do not control this private site.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use customary administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Security is a continuing effort, not a guarantee. No website, connected service, email system, storage provider, or internet transmission can be promised as completely secure or breach-proof. Users should avoid sending sensitive identifiers unless an official agency has confirmed a secure channel for the request.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or legal guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the contact route to identify the submission and request deletion. We will review the request and remove information under our control when the relationship and request can be reasonably verified.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, the type of data, and reasonable identity verification, a person may ask about personal information that we control. Available requests can include:
- receiving a copy of personal data held by us;
- correcting inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
- requesting deletion of personal data we control; and
- opting out of certain processing when an applicable right permits it.
A request about data held by a search partner, analytics provider, advertising network, Union County office, Tennessee agency, or federal service must be directed to that entity. We cannot change an official booking, court, correction, or release record held by its government custodian.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as site functions, providers, legal duties, or data practices change. The current version will be posted at this location with a new effective date when an update takes effect. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply from that effective date forward.
